The FAMILY TREE of JUAN MOSQUERA y MANZANILLA

Welcome graphic

This website is the result of a request from my foreign-born niece for her family tree of relatives in the Philippines.  This led to interesting research not only on our immediate family, but later included the extended family connections that are so quintessentially Filipino.

This website includes the family tree of Juan Mosquera y Manzanilla, a brief family history of the Mosquera in the Western Visayas province of Antique, and the role of the Manzanilla-Salvani-Mosquera-Cadiao in the local and provincial politics of Antique for over 100 years.  Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've learned about our family history, covering even the origins of our surname. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world. One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far apart.

Most of the information was obtained from talking to living relatives and from researching published references and the Internet. In the course of doing this research, I've discovered that I have many more relatives than I ever thought possible!

This is a work in progress, so please contact me if you have any information that might help round out the picture.
